Vegan world champion leads vegan power at World Championships
Maddie McConnell is on top of the World after competing in the WNBF World Championships and taking top spot!
Maddie competed in the highlight of the bodybuilding federation’s calendar and won the Pro Figure World title. This was her sixth – and biggest – win of the year, and Maddie’s third world title.
The Oregon-based personal trainer has been vegan since 2019 after discussing compelling reasons behind bodybuilder Zack Belkap‘s veganism.
“You do not need animal products to live a healthy life” she says. “In fact, you will likely be healthier without them!”
Zack’s partner Amanda Adeline (pictured, right) was also competing. “My goal going into Worlds was to place top 5” Amanda explained – and she took 5th of a tightly contested group of 16 in Bikini Tall.
Another vegan competitor was Maayan Eliasi (pictured, left). Returning to the world finals, she took to the stage in Pro Masters Figure and also placed 5th
“One of the most beautiful feedbacks I got from the judges is that I came in fuller than 2022, that I improved, that I presented evolution and that means gold for me” Maayan says.
Maayan has been vegan since 2013 following a serious road accident. “It helped my body recover and since I always loved animals going vegan was right for me” she says.
Maayan also competed with Avrora Gunko, another vegan who made the world finals and left pleased.
Congratulations to all these amazing vegan women!
