Plant based Thunder takes the title
Intense concentration and resilience saw Neil Robertson take the win at snooker's Masters.
The 39 year old had a difficult route to the final. He faced Ronnie O Sullivan in the quarter finals then edged a final frame thriller against Mark Williams in the semi. The final saw him overwhelm Barry Hawkins 10-4.
This was his second Masters win. Neil now has 21 career ranking titles and six wins in Triple Crown events.
At 39 he is among the older players, but is keen to win more titles including World titles to add to his 2010 triumph.
“It’s not too late to become a three or four-time world champion” says Neil. “Look at Tom Brady, he is a massive inspiration.”
American footballer Brady is known for playing at the top level at age 44 and also for moving to a mainly plant-based diet.
“When you have people like that carrying the flag you can achieve anything well into your 40s. You just have to stay confident and keep believing,” says Neil.
Neil eats entirely plant based and highlights the benefits in terms of health and concentration. He doesn’t generally use the term vegan, partly because he has been unable to source vegan snooker shoes. Neil’s been seen supping a green smoothie of his own concoction during matches.
